PATTI'S RECIPES
Patti
My sister Patti! Sometimes you come across someone who is so special, so very dear to your heart that you feel protective of them. This seems to happen alot when they are the next in line in your family order. Patti is this person. I remember when I was about 19 or 20 and she had a tift with our Dad so she decided to move away from home.
At the time I had just finished Beauty School and was working for the H.C. Pranges Co. in their salon. Patti called and needed somewhere to go so she asked if she might stay with me. Of course I said yes! The thing was that she had no money and didn't know how she would make ends meet. I told her to come to Green Bay anyway and that we together would find a way to make things work.
So I took a second job at a Pizza Parlor to help us both. Eventually I got her a job there also. In time she decided that Vista, an organization similar to the Peace Corp but based within the United States, would be the place for her. So off she went and there she meet David (part Cherokee), her husband of 34 years. The story of their courtship and marriage is sort of magical. They met and knew almost instantly that they were meant for each other.
After dating for only about 2 or 3 weeks David asked her to marry him and of course she said yes. I think sometimes you see someone and instantly see a rare uniqueness within that person that A. draws you to them and B. tells you that if things are allowed to happen as simply as they should that this just maybe your life partner. I believe this is true for Patti and David. I do know that their LOVE is pure in the truest sense.
Since that time they produced a wonderful biological daughter, Kathy (Texas Kathy when I have time to design her page), adopted an incredible son, George (part Navajo), adopted Jennifer (a special Lady with massive physical and emotional problems) and took on numerous foster children that they loved deeply.
Patti and I lost contact for a very long time but have reconnected over the last several years and very strongly. She is one of those people who hasn't had an easy life only because she chose her own life style and at times has had some rough turns, but she is growing and will continue to grow. What makes her so special is her heart, pure, and her faith, strong, her life, simple. So how can you not LOVE her! She is a joy for me.
Patti, thank you for being my sister. I LOVE YOU!
