SO WHO IS ARIEL

Well, I guess in a way I am. And who am I? In my mind I am first and always foremost the Mother of two incredible children, Jen and Becca. They are my pride and my joy. They are beautiful both inside and out. They are MY LADIES and each day I like more and more who they are and what, as women, they are becoming. They are my success, and I really need no other. Who else am I? I'm 55 years old and very proud of it. Life has had it's up and downs as it has for all of us, but what is important is looking back and still liking one's self. If anyone can do that then they are a success because you are you, and as such the best thing this world has to offer.

How do I preceive myself? Well, I know that I try every day to look at the world with kindness. I try to find as many moments in each day to appreciate and do something for whoever needs a kind word or even a thought. It doesn't matter what the past has been or who they are. In a universe where it seems that success is measured by who we are and what we have others need, my Mom helped me realize that if when you look yourself in the mirror and can say that you made the best of this day then you are a true success. Well, what I see sometimes is a Lady who I think grew up for the first time at 8 years old, not because she had a choice but because she was simply needed. She grew again and again. To date I think I am in my 5th or 6th level of adulthood. I also think that if as individuals who really are more interested in growing, we can all look back and see places where we have grown then just maybe we have done our part to creat our own healthy universe. I guess you could say that is why I choose Ariel for this site. If you know anything about "THE TEMPEST" you might recognize the character. Prospero created a place for his daughter to feel safe. This is after living in a world that did not make sense to him. So as he created this world he also created Ariel. Some say she/he is a sprite, some say she is a fairy. What I think is that she is an energy that prevades the universe. She supports the potential within the universe whenever the opportunity presents itself. Do I think I am Ariel as I see her? No, not in literal terms. What I think is that she is all of us, at least if nothing else in our potential. She is the magic within everyone. So we all independently feed the future of those around us. She is the magic within us all. She, like my Mom, feeds our future. But why a recipe site. Well, food also feeds us as does each of our pasts. Each in our own way. Like Ariel there is no limit to our potential. There is no limit to who we are. We just have to believe and love ourselves, even when no one else does, because no matter who we are this is our magic and why we are a part of it. So feed your potential if no other way than one of these titillating palate pleasers. Hey, it's a place to start. :)
