HOMEWORK VIRTUAL NOTEBOOK
Lesson 1:
In my first attempt to create a web page, I think that I tried to do a personal web page instead of the notebook I was asked to start with. I am hoping that even if I may have begun a little confused that this new beginning will aid my growth.
The things I learned in my first week of class are as follows.
- To create a Virtual Notebook.
- To setup a template and notebook1.html file.
- To copy and paste my template into the file.
- Add a title to the page.
- Now list a heading opening tag that includes align and center, the title of the page itself and closing tags for Heading.
- Setting the body of document:
- aligned to center.
- color can be added to both the body and text.
- Insert heading; align it to center.
- At this point you can insert a body opening tag to include both bold and italics tags and codes.
- Next, include the information pertinent to the body of the document.
- I also learned the difference between a line break tag and a paragraph tag. In my initial attempt I wasn't sure how to do it and used the paragraph tag to end a sentence when a line break tag should be used. This caused an extra empty line where I didn't want it. In changing the tags I found that the information was tighter, clearer and more concise. I have since questioned whether the paragraph tag did what I wanted it to do so I tried the line break tag and it gave me the space between sections that I wanted.
What I am hoping to learn in next weeks lesson includes:
- How to set tabs.
- How to get this up on a web page.
- And possibly how to add a more pleasant background to this page, hopefully with some texture.
- How to align the page to make it look a little more exciting.
- How to add a border and some sort of graphic image to what I have.
